Mushrooms stroganoff Ingredients

• 2 tsp olive oil

• 1 onion, finely chopped

• 1 tbsp sweet paprika

• 2 garlic cloves, crushed

• Wainui Valley mushrooms, chopped

• Salt + pepper to taste

• 6 tbsp tomato sauce or to taste

Method

• STEP 1 - Heat the olive oil in a large non-stick frying pan and soften the onion for about 5 mins.

• STEP 2 - Add the paprika and garlic, then cook for 1 min more. Add the mushrooms and cook on a high heat, stirring often, for about 5 mins.

• STEP 3 - Pour the tomato sauce. Bring to the boil, bubble for 5 mins until the sauce thickens.

To serve

Serve the mushroom stroganoff with hot rice, crispy salad, and roasted potato.

Tip/idea: if you want to make rice like we make in Brazil, follow the recipe!

Rice Ingredients ( how I do)

1 tablespoon of oil

half a small onion chopped

1 small, minced garlic clove

1 and a half cup(tea) of rice

1 /2 tablespoon of salt( the salt can be to taste)

3 cups(tea) of boiling water

Method

Step 1 - In a pan, heat the oil and sauté the onion and garlic until translucent.

Step2- Add the rice and sauté well until shiny.

Step 3 - Add boiling water and mix well.

Step 4 - Lower the heat, partially cover the pan, and let it cook until the rice is dry.

Step 5 - Turn off the heat, cover the pan for another 5 minutes so that the rice finishes cooking in its own steam.

Step 6 - Lower the heat, partially cover the pan, and let it cook until the rice is dry.
